The Ligue 1 titans will lock horns with Inter Milan tonight

PSG boss Luis Enrique has hit back at suggestions that the team's 'harmony' has improved following the departure of Kylian Mbappe ahead of tonight's Champions League final showdown with Inter Milan.

The Ligue 1 side go into the clash hoping to win the tournament for the first time, having previously lost to Bayern Munich at the same stage in 2020.

PSG won the domestic double last term, with Mbappe playing a starring role.

They are now just one victory away from a stunning treble, however, something they were never able to achieve during Mbappe's time leading their line.

With the 26-year-old now strutting his stuff for Real Madrid, PSG have evolved into one of the best teams in world football.

The likes of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola have formed a formidable relationship up top, with PSG now on the brink of landing the trophy they crave the most.

Prior to the clash, Enrique was asked whether PSG were a far more harmonious side without Mbappe.

Yet the Spaniard bristled at that suggestion, insisting relations behind the scenes have been positive from the start.

"We've had this harmony since the get-go," said Enrique, who previously won the Champions League with Barcelona a decade ago.

"Maybe you guys didn't want to see that. I don't like what you are saying. Maybe if we'd won last year you would say different.

"I'm the same person since the start. I've got exceptional players.

"We see the glass as half-full. I get them to play as a team, but that's my objective since day one.

"Our journey has been difficult, a long and winding road. The fact we struggled through it is an advantage now.

"We have shown no fear up until now, and it won't be the case [on Saturday]."

Meanwhile, Dembele was asked about Mbappe's departure from the club.

He says that while PSG have flourished, they could have been even better if they'd able to retain the services of the forward.

"Mbappe had a dream in his career, to play at Real Madrid… and PSG continued on its path.

"There is a before and an after Kylian."

Inter were the last Italian side to win the tournament, having done so under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

However, they ended up losing 1-0 to Manchester City - with Rodri netting the only goal of the game.
