Host Declan Donnelly swiftly intervened to apologise for Bruno Tonioli's spontaneous swearing

Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec have been forced to make an apology after a "slip of the tongue" in tonight's final.

The slip-up occurred during the 2025 final of ITV's talent contest, which featured 11 acts competing for the public vote.

Judge Bruno Tonioli accidentally swore during the live final, letting slip an expletive whilst critiquing comedian Joseph Charm's performance.

The 69-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing judge became overly enthusiastic and said "We were just p**sing" before instantly correcting himself, saying: "Oh sorry, we were just crying with laughter!"

Bruno's spontaneous swearing prompted an immediate response from the show's production team.

Host Declan Donnelly swiftly intervened to apologise for Bruno's spontaneous swearing.

The presenter said: "Apologies if you were offended by Bruno's slip of tongue there, it's a live show, very emotional."

Dec's immediate response came as the show continued with its live broadcast format.

The apology was issued shortly after the commencement of the live final on Saturday night, with the presenting duo Ant and Dec in charge of proceedings throughout the evening.

The incident sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with viewers taking to Twitter to voice their responses to the unexpected slip-up.

Several users found humour in the situation, with one tweeting: "Bruno just said p**sing with laughter oooops #BGT", while another joked that the slip-up was the highlight of the final so far.

However, not everyone felt an apology was necessary.

One viewer questioned: "Who's gonna be offended by someone saying 'p**sing' jeez#bgt".

Another expressed similar sentiment: "Imagine being offended by Bruno saying 'we were all p**sing with laughter'", while a third commented: "Wow, you have to apologise now because the word p**sing was said #bgt."

Earlier in the live final, Ant and Dec announced that singing duo Han and Fran had secured the judges' wildcard spot.

Head judge Simon Cowell explained the reasoning behind the decision: "They got a massive vote from the public and therefore, they deserve the shot in the final."

The Welsh-based best friends kicked off the performances with a medley of ABBA hits.
