Haribo has ordered sweets to be returned immediately after at least three bags were found to be laced with cannabis, leaving several people unwell.
The German company issued the recall in the Netherlands after a family reported to police that they became unwell following consumption of its Happy Cola F!ZZ sweets.
At the moment, the recall is only applicable to individuals in the Netherlands and not those in the UK. At least three bags were found to be laced with the drug.
Dutch authorities have now launched an investigation into the shocking revelation in an attempt to understand how the error occurred.

The confectionary company has requested that its customers return Happy Cola F!ZZ candies with a best-before date (BBD) of January 2026.
The faulty items can also be identified by its product code (L341-4002307906) for a refund at stores. The recall only applies to 1kg bags of the gummies.
Although only three bags were found to be faulty, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) relayed that Haribo had requested a total batch recall.
A spokeswoman for NVWA Saida Ahyad said: "There are bags in circulation with sweets that can lead to health complaints, such as dizziness, when consumed."

"The police reported this to the NVWA after several people, both children and adults, became ill after eating the cola bottles," Ahyad said.
"Do not eat the sweets," Ahyad added.
Now, Haribo is working with the country's authorities to carry out a probe into how the drug became mixed with the candies.
Its vice president of marketing, Patrick Tax, told AFP: "The safety of our consumers is our highest priority, and Haribo takes this incident very seriously."

"This is a live issue and we are working closely with the Dutch authorities to support their investigation and establish the facts around the contamination," Tax added.
Since 1965, Haribo has produced its "true classic" cola bottles to the masses, declaring that "every bottle conceals a little adventure of its own".
In the past, six children between the ages of four and 14 became ill in the Netherlands after consuming sweets that contained traces of one of the ingredients in cannabis - THC.
Unlike the latest incident, the sweets were not linked with any major confectionary company.
