Steven Gerrard has landed a new punditry role at TNT Sports for Saturday's Champions League final between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Liverpool legend has been out of management and out of work since leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq in January, having struggled to get results in the Middle East.

Gerrard will return to Champions League final action alongside old foe Rio Ferdinand, Karen Carney, and Owen Hargreaves, with Laura Woods and Reshmin Chowdhury to host.

He has appeared as a pundit for the broadcaster on multiple occasions since hanging up his boots in 2016, including for Liverpool's 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid in 2023.

The 44-year-old has also covered England matches for Channel 4.

Gerrard departed Al-Ettifaq by mutual consent in January with the club positioned just above the relegation zone.

The former England midfielder waived £10million in order to avoid getting a relegation on his managerial record.

Following his departure, Gerrard thanked the Saudi Arabian club's staff and supporters: "I want to express my gratitude to the club, the players, the fans and everyone involved for the opportunity and the support during my time here, especially the president, Mr Samer, CEO, Mr Hamad and the Head of Football Committee, Mr Hatim.

"But football is unpredictable and sometimes things don't go the way we want. However, I leave with great respect for the club and the country."

Gerrard is reportedly on the shortlist to return to Rangers as their next manager.

According to The Sun, Gerrard is the preferred option after leading Gers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2021, finishing the league campaign unbeaten.

An unsuccessful stint at Aston Villa followed and he was axed less than a year after joining the club.

His success at Ibrox earned him a move to Aston Villa in November 2021, but the Premier League stint proved unsuccessful. Gerrard was dismissed less than a year after his appointment at Villa Park.

Following his departure from Birmingham, Gerrard accepted the challenge of managing Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia's Pro League, though this appointment also ended prematurely with his exit in January.
