Smith believes William 'hasn't made any difference' with his comments about the Gaza conflict

Prince William’s stance on the Gaza conflict was defended vehemently in the face of criticism by Republic CEO Graham Smith.
Republic are calling for an abolishment of the monarchy and its CEO argued on GB News that William’s comments sparking controversy is reason itself for such an action.
“We should have someone in that position who can say something, but it needs to be something meaningful, otherwise it’s a bit pointless”, he argued.
Smith went on to argue that William is unable to use his position for much good as he is unable to wade into political matters without risking “getting himself into hot water”.
Shaking his head in disagreement was royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams who was keen to defend the Prince of Wales.
“The fact he’s highlighted this and the fact it’s him has made a difference”, he asserted.

Smith hit back, arguing William “hasn’t made any difference at all” with his comments.
He then went on to attack William’s record in public life, claiming his record of attending engagements is not good enough.
“To be fair, his wife has been incredibly ill in hospital”, GB News host Isabel Webster waded in to comment.
The Republic CEO had little sympathy for the Prince, arguing many are in a similar predicament but are having to continue working regardless.

Getty“The gushing coverage about these statements don’t really add up to much”, he argued.
Richard Fitzwilliams argued that William’s action on the climate crisis show that he is capable of making a difference in his position.
“If you take the Earthshot Prize for example, whatever he says he makes headlines and this is worldwide”, he said.
Smith hit back, branding William a “huge hypocrite” on environmental matters.
“He said several years ago that Middle East peace was his mission”, he said.
“He said that the environment was his life’s mission. He said that homelessness was his life’s mission.
“When you look at what he’s doing, he’s said he’s going to be doing a number of engagements, as far as I’m aware, it’s two engagements over several weeks.
“That’s all he does.”
