Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the UK in May for an Invictus Games anniversary event

Lady Victoria Hervey believes Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will grow up to "resent" their parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for not allowing them to be "fully cohesive" within the Royal Family.

The claim comes amid speculation as to whether the Sussexes will be travelling to the UK with their children next month, as they will attend an event to mark the Invictus Games ten year anniversary.

Appearing on GBN America, Lady Hervey told host Nana Akua that the children, who live in California, "aren't getting to meet their cousins regularly" as they grow up.

Hervey suggested that four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet will "resent the fact" that they didn't have their extended family members of the Royal Family around them.

Prince Archie was born in the UK before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to America, but Princess Lilibet has not travelled to the UK since she was born.

In discussion with Nana, Lady Hervey said the rest of the Royal Family will "also resent" not seeing Archie and Lilibet grow up.

Lady Hervey told GBN America: "If it was me, I'd say, well, why didn't you take me to see the Queen?

"Because there'll be those family photos, right at the family gatherings, and where's Lilibet and Archie? They're not in the pictures."

Nana agreed with Hervey, noting: "They'll be asking Harry and Meghan, because when you see family photos, when you're young, you always ask where was I?"

Nana continued: "And then obviously as you get older, you learn about all of this, because it's all on digital, it's not going anywhere.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"So I don't know what they think they're going to tell their kids when their kids get older, but the kids will not be happy. I would be furious if my parents had done that to me.

"It'll be interesting to see how it progresses, because I suspect if this carries on, then the relationship will continue to fizzle. And if it continues to fizzle, those kids will get older and they'll know what's going on."

Lady Hervey responded: "Yeah I agree, I think there's going to be a lot of issues as they get older and become teenagers, they're going to get very resentful."

Turning the conversation to Harry and Meghan's relationship with the UK and his continuing battle over the family's security, Lady Hervey said the Home Office is "right" on their stance and the Duke "cannot have it all".

She told Nana: "He either wants to be part of the Royal Family, or he's leaving the Royal Family to pursue his California lifestyle.

"But the problem is, he realises that that life of Netflix, which is obsessed with the Royal Family, is only going to continue if he keeps coming back here."

Nana concluded: "I think he's using it as an excuse because he hasn't brought his kids to see their grandparents, and I think he's using it as an excuse so he doesn't look so horrible."
