John McEnroe has snubbed Jannik Sinner by saying that Carlos Alcaraz is the 'only tennis player I would pay a ticket for' as Wimbledon creeps closer.
Alcaraz won the fifth Grand Slam of his career on Sunday, with the Spaniard rallying from two sets down to beat Sinner in a blockbuster showdown at Roland Garros.
The 22-year-old had appeared down and out after failing to win either of the first two sets.
But Alcaraz summoned his best form to reign supreme with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 victory in Paris.

Their fascinating clash has fans dreaming of a rivalry akin to that of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in their prime.
And McEnroe has now claimed that Alcaraz is the only tennis player he'd pay to watch, despite also hailing Sinner for his remarkable power.
The 66-year-old said: "Both him and Alcaraz have unique elements.
"Carlos is the most talented young player I have ever seen hold a racket, Jannik is not far behind.

"Alcaraz is brighter, Sinner is more consistent. I am struck by the sound of Jannik's ball: I have never heard anything like it.
"Carlos is the greatest gift the post-Big Three generation could give us. And he is the only tennis player I would pay a ticket for."
Alcaraz will be the favourite to win Wimbledon when the tournament starts on June 30.
The 22-year-old has won the event in each of the last two years, with Novak Djokovic beaten in both finals.

Speaking after his victory on Sunday, Alcaraz admitted that he had to keep 'fighting and fighting' in order to get the better of Sinner.
The world No 2 said: "Honestly, it was amazing. To put into words is really difficult.
"To be two sets down to the no 1 in the world. The level he was playing was unbelievable.
"I poured my hard in it to keep going. I think the fifth set was just not giving up- just fighting and fighting.

"It was just playing with heart. I was fighting but three match points down.
"I tried not to think about anything else and just go point after point and play with a positive heart and mind.
"I am proud of how I dealt with everything."
Sinner, meanwhile, admitted he'd struggle to sleep due to the disappointing outcome of the match.

"It is easier to play than talk now but to my team, thank you so much for helping me put myself in this position," he said.
"We tried our best today. We gave everything we had.
"Still an amazing tournament even though it is very, very difficult now.
"I won't sleep very well tonight but it is OK."
