Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to sign a new contract at Al-Nassr, putting to bed rumours of retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he will remain at Al-Nassr following Portugal's UEFA Nations League triumph on Sunday night as he also scoops himself a new job.

The 40-year-old forward, who scored in the 2-2 draw against Spain before his side won on penalties, dismissed speculation about a potential move - putting to bed any rumours about retirement in the process.

"My future? Basically nothing is gonna change. Staying at Al Nassr? Yeah," Ronaldo told reporters after the match in Munich.

Despite scoring 74 goals and providing 16 assists in 77 Saudi Pro League matches, Ronaldo has yet to secure a league title with Al-Nassr.

He was substituted late in Sunday's final due to an injury concern.

However, in a significant development announced on Friday, Ronaldo has been appointed Global Ambassador for the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh.

The Esports World Cup Foundation confirmed the Portuguese star will headline the tournament's global campaign for the seven-week competition this summer.

Ronaldo previously participated in the EWC's global announcement in 2023 and attended last year's closing ceremony in Riyadh.

His new role will see him promote the tournament to his social media following of over one billion people across all channels.

"Sport is always evolving and esports is one more frontier," Ronaldo stated.

"The commitment, drive, talent, and intensity I have been able to see in esports athletes is no different from what I've experienced on the pitch.

"I'm proud to stand alongside these competitors and be part of a global event that's inspiring a new generation."
