Czech folk artist Hana Horka has died aged 57 after contracting the Delta variant.

A Czech singer has died after intentionally catching Covid so that she could gain a health pass to visit a sauna.
Anti-vax folk artist Hana Horka contracted the Delta variant and died on Sunday, according to her son, Jan Rek.
Hana Horka, who sings for the band Asonance, exposed herself to the virus when her husband and son caught it before Christmas, he told iRozhlas.cz pubilc radio.
"She decided to continue to live normally with us and preferred to catch the disease than to get vaccinated," Jan Rek added.
Horka reached out to her followers on social media two days before her death: "I survived, it was intense."
"So now there will be the theatre, sauna, a concert... and an urgent trip to the sea" said Horka.
Jan Rek explained that his mother had believed that she had recovered from Covid and went for a walk but then started suffering from back pain soon as soon as she got home and died choking in her bed.
Jan Rek highlighted that a local anti-vax movement had "brainwashed" his mother into not being vaccinated, accusing it's leaders of having "blood on their hands."
The Czech Republic's Covid restrictions outline that people require proof of vaccination or a recent infection to enter bars and restaurants, sports and cultural events and for travel.

The Czech Republic has seen Covid cases rise recently, with 20,270 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the World Heath Organization.
