It's too late for King Charles III to portray a figure of true impartiality, according to Camilla Tominey.
Questions have been raised over the monarch’s political feelings after he met with European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen as the UK struck a post-Brexit deal with Northern Ireland.
Rishi Sunak is under pressure to appease unionists as the DUP continue to boycott Stormont as a result of the current trading arrangements between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
GB News presenter and journalist Camilla Tominey suggests Charles faces “trouble” in convincing unionists he remains neutral on the UK’s EU stance.
Speaking on GB News to Nigel Farage, she said: “That’s the trouble with Charles.
“You can’t put the Charles genie back in the bottle when he was accused as Prince of Wales of sending black spider memos and ‘interfering politics’.
“He’s in a different role completely now and his people have always insisted he will rule differently to how he behaved as the longest-serving heir apparent in history.”
The deal between the UK and the EU has been termed ‘The Windsor Agreement’ due the location of the final round of protocol talks, according to a Downing Street spokesperson.

GB News’ Nigel Farage says the official line from No10 on the matter is “utter baloney”, insisting it marks the significance of the monarch’s appearance at the talks.
He said: “I know from the past because I was there twice when Charles visited the European Parliament, spoke in European Parliament, praised the European Parliament, praised the institutions of the European Union.
“He also asked for the institutions to have more power, so I know what he thinks.
“But I fear that today, many people, not just the unionist community in Northern Ireland, but actually many people who want Charles to succeed who will be very upset by this.”
Camilla Tominey continued, adding that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s first royal tour as the monarchy may be taking place in Europe, a move that is likely to “raise eyebrows”.

She told Nigel Farage: “It’s not a good look to be dragged into the political fray in this light at all.
“The other thing that slightly complicates matters is that their first tour as King and Queen Consort is to Europe, and not the Commonwealth.
“It’s not confirmed yet, and I await details which I think are coming next week.
“Again, that’s raised some eyebrows because the idea of him even taking over as Commonwealth heads of Government is controversial after his late mother.
“He was unanimously appointed but we know some Commonwealth countries are considering going their own way.

“You might have thought the priority would have been to visit one of those countries first.”
Buckingham Palace said Charles was acting on “the Government’s advice”. Downing Street said it was “fundamentally” a decision for the King.
Government sources indicated Von der Leyen had requested the meeting, something denied in Brussels.
Giving details of the meeting, the European Commission president said: “We discussed the joint challenges the EU and UK face as historic partners, and our joint duties: unwavering support for Ukraine and fighting global climate change.”
