Kate and Prince William missed the last two events due the death of Prince Phillip and 'diary constraints'

The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly gearing up for a glam evening at the 2023 BAFTA awards after missing the last two previous years.

Prince William, who is the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, hasn't attended the awards since 2020.

He and his wife Kate missed the April 2021 ceremony due to the death of Prince Phillip.

In 2022 the Royal couple were also absent and according to a BAFTA spokesperson at the time that this was due to “diary constraints.”

Princess Kate recycled her stunning gold and white Alexander McQueen dress at the 2020 BAFTA awards alongside William who opted for a tuxedo and bow tie.

The London College of Fashion's Centre for Sustainability asked guests to re-wear, buy vintage or rent garments for the awards.

Kate previously wore the Alexander McQueen gown – the same fashion house of who designed her wedding dress – during a 2012 state dinner in Malaysia.

In 2019 Kate opted for another elegant Alexander McQueen dress along with a pair of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's pearl and silver earrings.

Last week William and Kate made their first official visit to Cornwall since taking on their new titles.

During their visit to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth, they were interrupted by a protester.

It was the couple's first visit since they succeeded King Charles and Camilla as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.

King Charles, Prince William and the Princess of Wales have all had engagements disturbed by protesters over recent months.

The man held up a black piece of paper and yelled "no more monarchy".

Kate and Prince William have been very active since the start of 2023, appearing as a couple to undertake engagements together as well as solo.

The 76th British Academy Film Awards will be held on February 19, 2023 to honour the best national and international films of 2022.
