Dolph Lundgren and his fiancée Emma Krokdal have tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony on the Greek island of Mykonos.

The couple, who share a 38-year age gap, announced their engagement in 2020.

Speaking about the big day, the pair said: "We chose to celebrate our love by getting married at our villa in Mykonos with family and a few close friends.

"With both Covid and a long road of challenging medical treatments, we’ve had to push our marriage plans many times.

"We felt it was finally the right time to celebrate love, life and happiness— in the land of the Gods," they added to PEOPLE.

News of the pair's nuptials was first announced back in 2020 when Lundgren took to Instagram to announce their engagement.

In a snap alongside Krokdal, who flashed her ring to the camera, Lundgren penned: "Something very special happened here in Sweden. D [love heart emoji] E - June 16, 2020."

Lundgren was previously married to Anette Qviberg from 1994-2011.

Together they share two daughters, Ida, 27, and Greta, 21.

The newlyweds' wedding day comes eight years after Lundgren first discovered a cancerous tumour in his kidney.

The Expendables actor has been battling the disease ever since and was even told he had a matter of years to live when it reemerged back in 2020.

Speaking on In Depth with Graham Besinger back in May, Lundgren recalled the first instance he discovered a problem.

He said: "They found a tumour, they didn't know what it was but they found a tumour in my kidney here in LA in 2015. But then they did a biopsy and found it was cancerous."

After admitting it "was fine for five years", in 2020, Lundgren found himself back at the doctors.

He continued: "In 2020, I was back in Sweden and I had some kind of acid reflux, I didn’t know what it was so I did an MRI.

"They found that there were a few more tumours around that area."

Lundgren went on: "They found one more tumour in the liver, so I was like, 'Ah, s**t, okay'.

"At that point it started to hit me that this was something serious. The surgeon called me and said it had grown, it was too big, it had grown to the size of a small lemon.

"I asked them how long do I have left, I think he said two to three years but I could tell in his voice he thought it was less. I thought that was it for sure."

Krokdal also spoke to the show as she detailed what life has been like living with Lundgren throughout his ongoing battle.

"His mouth got really sore, his hands got sore and he couldn’t eat anything," she detailed.

"That was a struggle, he was losing weight. We realised it was a lot worse than we thought, they started talking about tumours in the lung, stomach, spine, outside the kidneys."

Fortunately, Lundgren has defied doctors' expectations and was all smiles on his big day to his new wife.
