The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have parted ways with Lianne Cashin

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lost another trusted team member amid growing turmoil in the Sussexes' camp.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have parted ways with Lianne Cashin, who served as head of operations at their Archewell Foundation.

Cashin's exit comes just a month after a spokesperson praised her as "exceptional" and said she embodied the "strength and vision" of Meghan and Harry.

The staffing changes come weeks after the couple enlisted Method Communications, the PR agency behind a controversial video showing the Duchess dancing and twerking.

Cashin's departure forms part of a broader exodus from the Sussex team.

Other departing staff members include Kyle Boulia, the Los Angeles-based deputy press secretary, and Charlie Gipson, who served as the couple's European communications director.

Both had been in their positions for barely a year.

Deesha Tank, Archewell's director of communications, has also left the organisation.

A personal assistant and Meghan's social media manager are understood to have departed as well.

The social media manager's exit occurred before the Duchess released a video showing the royal couple dancing in a hospital delivery room whilst awaiting their daughter Princess Lilibet's birth. The clip, posted on the Duchess's Instagram earlier this month, divided viewers.

Meredith Maines, Chief Communications Officer to Meghan and Harry, explained the decision in a statement to GB News.

She said: “As the Duke and Duchess's business and philanthropic interests grow, I have made the strategic decision to move toward a more traditional communications structure of specialist agency support, as previously reported in Forbes and PR Week several weeks ago.

"Transitioning from a team of two to an agency support staff of eight, operating across five different time zones, will give international media and stakeholders better access, and critically, faster response times to inquiries."

Insiders indicate that warning signs for some team members emerged following January's Vanity Fair exposé, which alleged several staffers required "long-term therapy" or took extended breaks after working with Meghan.

The publication portrayed Prince Harry as an isolated figure who has struggled to establish friendships in the US. These revelations preceded the current wave of departures.

The couple have made several new appointments alongside the departures. Emily Robinson, a former Netflix publicity director who worked on programmes including The Crown, has joined their expanding communications operation.

Meghan has recruited Sarah Fosmo, who previously worked for Bill Gates, as her first chief of staff. Harry has promoted long-time aide Miranda Barbot to the same position on his side.

The Duchess is concentrating on developing her As Ever lifestyle brand, though her messaging has shown inconsistencies.

She told Fast Company magazine that new products wouldn't launch until early 2026, but days later U-turned and said that fans' "favourite" items would return this month alongside "a few new things" she "can't wait to show off."
