Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl told GB News that Harry "doesn't have an awareness of the impact" of his comments

Prince Harry has been accused of being in “la la world” after his latest television interview.

That’s according to Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl, who believes the Duke of Sussex’s fresh comments are “even more personal” than those seen during his and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Speaking on GB News’ Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, Ms Nicholl said: “You do wonder that he is so deluded and in his own la la world that he just doesn’t have an awareness of the impact and the interpretation.

“But for me the interpretation is I don’t think he is necessarily having a go at the men in grey, or the women in grey as he did last time during the interview with Oprah.

“To me this feels even more personal, the people who are clearly surrounding and protecting the Queen at the moment are William and Charles so is this a direct criticism by Harry.”

Ms Nicholl added that Charles insisted in holding a meeting with Harry before he and Meghan sat down with the Queen during a surprise visit to the UK Last week.

She continued: “I spoke to a source very close to the Prince of Wales about this meeting and was told that it was Charles’ absolute insistence that he had the meeting with Harry before Harry and Meghan went in to see the Queen.

“Now if Harry sees that as gatekeeping and guarding, it absolutely is.

“Because I think that Charles had some very clear messages for Harry before he went in to visit the Queen.”

Speaking about the visit to see the Queen during an interview with NBC’s Today, Harry said: “Being with her, it was great. It was just so nice to see her, she's on great form.

“She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure she's protected and got the right people around her.

“Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her."
