Sir Rod Stewart has been branded an "absolute showman" by Glastonbury fans who were quick to point out a rather impressive feat following the rocker's Glastonbury performance.
The singer's Sunday afternoon Legends slot at Glastonbury Festival drew enormous crowds to the Pyramid Stage, with footage showing the field completely packed in scenes reminiscent of Elton John's 2023 performance.
The 80-year-old rock icon delivered a 90-minute set featuring his classic hits, having successfully negotiated an extended slot after initially being offered just 75 minutes.
He brought out Ronnie Wood and Lulu towards the end of his set as the crowd erupted into cheers as the trio belted out a rendition of hit hit Hot Legs.

Stewart made a political statement during his set, telling the crowd there had been "a lot about the Middle East lately, quite rightly so" before adding: "I want to draw your attention to Ukraine for a minute."
He then performed The Love Train in dedication to Ukraine. Elsewhere during his set, Stewart belted out all of his classics, from Maggie May to Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?
The performance came just days after Stewart faced criticism for backing Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. "We're fed up with the Tories. We've got to give Farage a chance. He's coming across well. Nigel? What options have we got?" he said to the Times.
Those in attendance at his Legend's Slot set didn't seem perturbed by the backing, however, with thousands cheering and belting out every note of Sir Rod's set.

And the same went for fans at home who, despite some pointing out Sir Rod missed a few notes, heaped praise on the singer considering he'd pulled off such a performance at 80 years of age.
"Sir Rod Stewart, his amazing band and singers are absolutely rockin' the Pyramid stage at #Glastonbury2025," one fan was keen to point out on X. "The man is 80 and he's showing just how it's done. Watch and learn, you silly little kids with your backing tracks, your Autotune and your flashing lights! #Glastonbury."
Another was similarly distracted by the singer's age, also typing on the social media site: "Rod Stewart at 80! Owning the Glastonbury stage with energy and style. Voice as unique and strong as ever performing hit after hit. #Glastonbury #RodRocks #legend"
"Rod Stewart is enjoying Glastonbury, for 80 he's doing very well! 'Young Turks' sounds great #Glastonbury2025," a third praised before a fourth hit out at his critics: "All the sour bakes slagging off #RodStewart just because he said something they disagree with.
"Never been my cup of tea, but you can't deny the guys still a showman at 80. #Glastonbury."
And the compliments kept coming from a fifth. "He’s a tad off the beat at times, but there’s no disputing even at 80 Rod Stewart draws a massive crowd and is still 100% still the showman that made him famous. #uptherod #Glastonbury," they typed.

Meanwhile, a sixth simply put: "Rod Stewart still got it at 80!!! #Glastonbury #RodStewart."
Throughout his set, Stewart maintained his focus, telling the crowd: "I only have an hour and a half so I want to get through as many songs as I can - NEXT."
The performance came after health struggles forced him to cancel several US concerts in early June due to severe flu.

"So sorry, my friends. I'm devastated and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans. I'll be back on stage and will see you soon," he posted on social media at the time.
During the sweltering Glastonbury heat, Stewart dropped an F-bomb whilst complaining about the temperature, seemingly forgetting he was being broadcast on BBC iPlayer before the watershed.
"It's f****** hot!" he exclaimed, before removing his military-style jacket.
There were outfit changes aplenty during the performance, and inevitably, several homages to his beloved Celtic FC.
