A property dispute has broken out between a couple and their elderly neighbours over an "audacious" rule hanging over their shared driveway.
The spat began when the pair, having just moved into their new home, tried to inform their neighbours about plans to place two small bike storage units on their side of the drive.
The couple said they had carefully reviewed their land registry documents to confirm where the boundary sat before trying to install the bike sheds.
Measuring around two feet deep and four feet tall, the sheds were meant to protect their children's bicycles from the rain.

"I'm quite an easy-going person, so I said to the neighbours - an elderly very religious couple - that we planned to put two bike sheds on our drive," the mother said on social media.
They "would not cause any issues for their house, they sit below the fence line, and do not block access", she added.
With "very little in the way of outdoor storage" at the family's new home, "the kids' bikes were getting ruined outside".
Deeds show that the shared access driveway splits at the top, allowing two parking spaces at each property.
But the elderly couple's response stunned the family.

GETTY"He replied that it would not be acceptable, that as he owned the largest house... he had final say," the mother said.
"They were [in] his words 'the senior household'", she added.
But the family have pushed ahead with their plans.
"Needless to say, we have two bike sheds on the drive and we've not spoken to the neighbours since", she concluded.
The elderly man's claim to have "final say" over his neighbours' driveway soon sparked an online pile-on.
Social media users rallied behind the couple's decision, with many voicing their disbelief at the neighbour's behaviour.
"Perfect response to such audacity", one commenter wrote, with another adding: "'Senior household'... What a muppet!"
"You were courteous and upfront. They responded with ego and made-up authority. Not your fault the conversation ended there", one person added.
"I applaud your ability to not laugh in his face. I would have", another jabbed.
