The ex-Manchester City, QPR and Newcastle star has been outspoken on social media over the past two weeks

Joey Barton has launched a fresh attack on female football players.

And he's also claimed he can't share any videos from matches he's referring to, having had his account blocked twice.

Barton has sparked controversy in recent weeks by criticising female pundits and presenters who work on the men's game.

He also sparked a backlash after raging at the BBC's decision to crown Mary Earps as Sports Personality of the Year.

And Barton has now continued his attack on female footballers by condemning a goal scored by German footballer Lea Schuller.

He said on X: "Just been sent a clip from last weekend.

"LEA SCHÜLLER’s goal for Bayern Munich Women against Nürnberg last Sunday.

"Two British Women’s internationals on the pitch (Stanway and Sam Kerr)

"That is the standard of their football.

"Don’t make me laugh."

Barton then proceeded to say he couldn't post footage of the goal in question because he's had his account blocked twice.

"(I can’t repost as I’ve had account blocked twice for posting clips of games!) Copyright infringement," he added.

Barton has, however, once again been criticised by fans for his comments.

One user said: "Do you ever wake up in the morning with the sun shining through your window and think… 'maybe I won’t be a total c*** today'.

A second said: "Give it a b****y rest!"

A third stated: "Think copyright infringement is the thing which has landed you in least bother on here."

A fourth criticised Barton by saying: "Do you ever give it a rest. Just go and enjoy Christmas Joey."

And a fifth said: "You are an insignificant little man who thinks slating women gives you some kind of high ground!!!! Grow some balls you moron!!!!"

Controversy surrounded Barton when, at the start of the month, he said women are 'not qualified' to speak on men's football.

"Come on. Let's be serious," he said. "It's a completely different game.

"If you don't accept that. We will always see things differently.

"The women's game is thriving. Fantastic to see. I cannot take a thing they say serious in the men's arena."

Barton also said female commentators are 'like me talking about knitting or netball.'

And he added: "Out the stadiums and off the concourse's with the influencer f****** nonsense."

In the immediate aftermath of Barton's comments, some fans wanted the former footballer to be fined by the FA.

However, that won't be happening because his comments have come at a time when he's not employed by any football club.
