This month will mark 10 years since the German's tragic skiing accident

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says he wouldn't wish Michael Schumacher's condition on his 'worst enemy'.

And he's also claimed the Formula One icon's situation remains 'difficult' as the 10-year anniversary of his skiing accident approaches.

Schumacher is currently in the spotlight after a new documentary on his life, which was released by ARD.

The series charted his rise from go-karting star to arguably the best F1 driver in the entire history of the sport.

A decade ago, while skiing in France, Schumacher went off course and struck his head on a rock.

He has lived away from the public eye ever since, with his family preferring to keep his condition shrouded in secrecy.

Schumacher is believed to require round-the-clock care from wife Corinna, who has previously said her husband is 'here, but different'.

And Domenicali, who used to work with the F1 legend at Ferrari, has now provided an update on his old friend by saying he wouldn't wish the condition on his 'worst enemy'.

"It seems like yesterday his accident in Meribel, they are episodes that change your life," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Out of respect for him and his family we must stay close to him, this difficult situation remains.

"What is between me and the family remains private, but living like this for ten years is something you would never wish even on your worst enemy."

Schumacher avoided serious injury during his time in F1.

And that makes his accident in France 10 years ago all the more tragic.

Schumacher's former manager, Willi Weber, recently provided another update on the 54-year-old.

He said he's lost all hope of ever seeing Schumacher again, while also regretting his decision not to visit the stricken star in hospital in the immediate aftermath of his accident.

"When I think of Michael now, unfortunately I don't have anymore hope that I will see him again," he said.

"No positive news after 10 years."

He added: "Of course, I regret that very much and blame myself [for not visiting Schumacher].

"I should have visited Michael in the hospital.

"I mourned like a dog after his accident. It hit me incredibly hard, you can imagine that.

"But at some point, the point came when I had to free myself from Michael and let go.

"Even three or four years later, people who recognised me kept asking me, 'You're Schumacher's ex-manager. How is Michael?'

"Then I stopped trying to explain and thought, 'Why doesn't anyone ask how I'm doing?'

"For me it was clear, 'Well, now it's over. This c**p needs to get out of my head'."
