The Princess of York made several prominent public appearances last week

Princess Eugenie has left the UK just a day after making back-to-back appearances at Royal Ascot alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Eugenie shared on her social media account on Sunday that she was in Switzerland at the Kunstmuseum in Basel.

The royal posted multiple snaps of the art inside the museum with her followers on Instagram.

The Kunstmuseum in Basel claims to have the "oldest public art collection worldwide" in the bio section of its social media page.

Eugenie's trip to Switzerland comes after the princess was granted a notably prominent position at Satuday's Royal Ascot, travelling in the second carriage of the royal procession alongside her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

The Princess of York and her husband shared their carriage with racehorse trainer Ed Walker and his wife, Camilla Walker.

Their placement directly behind the King and Queen's lead carriage represents a significant honour.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were accompanied by horse trainer Sir Mark Prescott and actress Lizzie Spender in the first carriage.

Princess Eugenie also presented the trophy for the Hardwicke Stakes, one of the final day's key races.

This represented a rare formal presentational duty for the 35-year-old, who is not a working royal.

On Friday, the King displayed warmth and affection as he welcomed family members on the penultimate day of Royal Ascot, greeting his niece Princess Eugenie and her mother Sarah Ferguson with kisses on their hands at the Berkshire racecourse.

Another of his nieces, Zara Tindall, also joined the royal gathering, appearing delighted to reunite with her relatives.

The royal women showcased impeccable style for the occasion, with Zara Tindall dressed in an elegant light blue suit paired with a matching blouse and a statement hat featuring a white bow.

Sarah Ferguson looked equally fashionable in a trendy monochrome polka dot frock, whilst Queen Camilla, 77, wore a white chiffon dress with embroidered flowers from Anna Valentine, complemented by a feathered Philip Treacy hat.

The Royal Family members observed traditional protocol during their interactions, with both Zara Tindall and Princess Eugenie curtsying to the King and Queen.

The warm family reunion highlighted the close relationships within the royal circle, as relatives greeted one another with genuine affection at the prestigious racing event.
