The announcement comes as the charity marks its 35th anniversary year.

Speaking about her new role, Winslet expressed enthusiasm for the charity's environmental mission.

"I am delighted to become an Ambassador for The King's Foundation in the charity's 35th anniversary year. One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world - something I have in common with His Majesty!" she said.

The actor added: "I am therefore thrilled to put this passion into practice by working with the King's Foundation. I look forward to supporting the charity's life-changing work to build sustainable communities and transform lives into the future."

The King's Foundation operates across multiple sites throughout Britain, offering educational programmes in traditional crafts and skills at risk of disappearing.

The charity maintains its headquarters at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, whilst also serving as custodian of Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire and the Castle of Mey in Caithness.

In London, the organisation runs the School for Traditional Arts in Shoreditch and operates facilities at Trinity Buoy Wharf along the Thames. These locations provide hands-on training in heritage crafts and traditional techniques.

The charity's work is guided by The King's philosophy of Harmony, which emphasises environmental protection and sustainable practices in all its initiatives.

Murrin added: "We look forward to working with Kate to promote our work over many years to come."

The charity's approach combines practical education with environmental stewardship, aiming to transform lives whilst preserving traditional skills for future generations.
