Joe Biden has mistakenly referred to Donald Trump as a “congressman”, the latest in the President’s string of gaffes.

Speaking to an audience at CS Wind, the largest wind tower manufacturer in the world, Biden slammed the front-runner Republican candidate for cuts “Congressman Trump and Boebert want to do”.

His comments were made in reference to Lauren Boebert, the Republican Colorado congresswoman whose district he visited on his trip.

RNC Research, a right-wing campaign group, shared footage of the gaffe online. Citizen Free Press shared the video with the caption: “Biden is cooked”.

Biden blundered through a 23-minute speech as polls show large majorities of voters are concerned about his age and abilities as he seeks re-election.

He also seemed to forget the names of current Chinese and South Korean leaders.

“I am friends with your leader, Mr Moon, you know,” Biden told corporate leaders in Colorado — appearing to refer to former South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who left office in 2022.

Biden and the current South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, have interacted many times, including at a state dinner where the President honoured Yeol.

Joe Biden has faced mounting criticism in recent months for a number of awkward gaffes during public appearances.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Last week, the 81-year-old got Taylor Swift and Britney Spears mixed up in an awkward gaffe during his birthday celebrations.

The US President made the remarks while pardoning two turkeys, Liberty and Bell, in what is an annual Thanksgiving tradition.

Joe Biden got Taylor Swift and Britney Spears mixed up in an awkward gaffe on his 81st birthday.

He used the name 'Britney' in a comment which appeared to be referring to Taylor Swift.

Biden said: “Just to get here, Liberty and Bell had to beat some tough odds and competition.

“They had to work hard, to show patience, and be willing to travel over 1,000 miles.

“You could say it's even harder than getting a ticket to the Renaissance tour or, or Britney's tour.

“She's down, it's kind of warm in Brazil right now.”

In September, a rival party filed for a conservatorship for the President.

The US Libertarian Party filed for conservatorships for Biden, as well as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel, 81, referring to them as “geriatric elites”.

A conservatorship is appointed by a judge when a person is unable to make decisions for themselves, so another individual is given decision-making powers on their behalf.

The Libertarian Party’s Chair, Angela McArdle, said that the party has spoken with several attorneys who have confirmed that an organisation can have a conservatorship over an individual in Washington DC.

Biden plans to run for re-election and if successful, would begin his second term aged 82 and conclude it aged 86.
