Covid: 'Really dumb' man paid by anti-vaxxers to receive jab 10 times in one day

A New Zealand man has received the Covid-19 vaccine 10 times in one day.

The individual who remains anonymous was paid by anti-vaxxers to receive their injections for them.

He got the jab before vaccination records were updated for the intended person.

It is believed they paid him so that they would not be impacted by restrictions imposed on unvaccinated individuals.

Members of the public in New Zealand are required to present a vaccine passport if they want to attend certain events across the country.

Speaking to the Daily Mail University of Auckland vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris said it was a "really dumb thing to do".

"I think the chances of them feeling extra awful are higher than someone who had a regular dose"

The country has faced an increase in Covid cases with 103 new infections and 61 hospitalisations over the weekend.

94% of the population who are eligible have received their first jab, while 89% have had both.
