More often than not, individuals might try to avoid washing their hair when shedding becomes a problem in an attempt to prevent further loss.
However, experts have adamantly defied this mindset, with plenty of influencers insisting that the shower can’t cause hair loss by itself.
Audrey Victoria, known as @audreyvictoria_ on TikTok, showed off that she was able to achieve 30cm of growth over the course of a year - diverging from the well-trodden path of hair care.
Divulging followers in her secret, she revealed that her first tip to achieve “crazy” growth was washing her hair everyday.

“I know people say not to but, when I did this in high school, my hair grew like crazy,” Audrey added.
Traditionally, daily washing is frowned upon in the hair care world, with professional experts citing the possibility of increased breakage, split ends and dehydration as a result of excessive product.
“How often you should wash your hair depends on your hair’s type and texture,” Dr Khetarpal declared, adding: “Those with coarse, coiled, tightly curled locks should wash their hair at least every two weeks.”

But those with finer hair should shampoo their hair “at least every other day”, while those afflicted with oily or greasy scalps could choose to “wash their hair daily if it bothers them”, the doctor advised.
The Cleveland Clinic recommends that those with thin, fine hair should wash their hair every one to two days, while those with semi-coarse hair should be washed every two to four days.
Further, coarse, thicker hair could be washed every week - “or whenever you feel it needs to be washed”.

Beyond frequency, Audrey highlighted that the type of product used to wash your hair was just as important to achieve the growth.
Explaining why, she said: “A clean scalp is key for healthy, fast-growing hair, so if you’re using a good shampoo that doesn’t strip your hair, daily-washing is a win."
“Focus on cleansing your scalp and not your ends. Your scalp is where the growth starts,” the influencer advised.
