Carlos Alcaraz has sparked controversy with his choices in a "kiss, marry, kill" game at the HSBC Championships, declaring he would "kill" Novak Djokovic.

The Spanish tennis star made the remarks during a lighthearted segment at Queen's Club whilst preparing for his round of 16 match.


The 22-year-old's bold choices came during an entertainment segment featuring several tournament participants.

His comments generated significant buzz amongst tennis fans at the prestigious ATP and WTA 500 event, where players are fine-tuning their grass-court games ahead of Wimbledon.

During the entertainment segment, British comedian and impersonator Josh Berry posed the question to Alcaraz, asking him to choose between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

The five-time Grand Slam champion responded jokingly: "I would kill Novak, [for] winning that final of the Olympic Games. I could marry Rafa Nadal."

The Olympic silver medallist's playful response referenced his recent defeat to Djokovic in the Olympic final.

The segment included other tournament participants such as Emma Raducanu, Jack Draper, Frances Tiafoe, Alex De Minaur, Katie Boulter, Grigor Dimitrov, Madison Keys and Daria Kasatkina, who were all asked various questions during the lighthearted exchange.

The HSBC Championships at Queen's Club mark Alcaraz's return to grass following his impressive French Open campaign.
