The couple are reportedly exploring their options as they seek a new property

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rumoured relocation has sparked panic in a US suburb, according to an estate agent in the area.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently live in the Californian town of Montecito with their two children Archie and Lilibet.

However, the couple are reportedly exploring their options as they seek a new property to move into.

The Santa Barbara, California, enclave of Hope Ranch has been mooted as a potential destination for the Sussexes.

However, some residents in the area are not happy about the potential publicity that Meghan and Harry could bring to Hope Ranch.

An estate agent told The Post: "The people that made the calls to me don’t want change and they don’t want all the hoopla."

Another estate agent added: "People are not happy, that’s the word around town.

"They want them to stay in Montecito and not be drawing that kind of attention to Hope Ranch."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

It comes as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's neighbour opened up on being snubbed outside their Montecito mansion.

Frank McGinity, an 88-year-old US Navy veteran and Meghan and Harry's neighbour said that he had tried to welcome the couple with a gift.

In a chapter of his memoir, Get Off Your Street, McGinity wrote: "I have a big house next to Harry and Meghan’s property and I live in the guest house while renting the main house out on Airbnb."

He continued: "Harry and Meghan live on old McCormick property and I went up to their gate with the films on a CD, but they weren’t interested."

McGinity said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's security guard turned him away outside the gates of the property.

He wrote: "The gate guy turned me away and wouldn’t take the film, just saying ‘they’re not interested.’ I was trying to be neighbourly."

McGinity added: "We don’t see them very much around here. It’s surprising they came here. People are typically older."

The couple moved to California following a short spell in Canada and have lived there for the last three years.
