The State Banquet promises to be a grand display

Queen Camilla is set to outshine Princess Kate during the upcoming French State Visit with a "bold statement", a jewellery expert has claimed.

Tobias Kormind, managing director and co-founder of 77 Diamonds, Europe's largest online diamond jeweller, told GB News exclusively about anticipated selections.

The state banquet promises to be a grand display. "The Princess of Wales is likely to the Lover's Knot Tiara, one of her favourite tiaras, which would pair beautifully with delicate pearl earrings," Kormind predicted.

Queen Camilla may choose something more dramatic. "In contrast, Queen Camilla may opt for a bolder statement tiara like the Greville Tiara, renowned for its striking honeycomb design," he noted, adding that she wore it during the 2023 Germany state visit.

For daytime engagements, he expects subtle sophistication. "Queen Camilla is expected to opt for tasteful statement pieces, such as diamond drop earrings or a pearl strand choker, which has become a signature piece in her everyday ensemble," Kormind said.

Princess Kate, 43, will likely choose refined classics. "The Princess of Wales will favour classic pieces that match her refined taste, such as a pair of pearl earrings, perhaps wearing the iconic Collingwood earrings or a delicate pair of pearl cluster earrings," he explained.

President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte will arrive on Tuesday, July 8 for a three-day visit. Buckingham Palace announced the Princess of Wales and Prince William will meet the French couple at an airbase northwest of London.

The royal couple will then accompany them to Windsor, where King Charles and Queen Camilla will greet the visitors.

A Royal Salute will be fired in Home Park, Windsor, and at the Tower of London. Kate and William will join the carriage procession led by Charles and Camilla with the visiting French couple through Windsor's streets to the historic castle.

Upon arrival in the castle's quadrangle, they will receive a royal salute from the guard of honour. The regimental band will play both national anthems.

Charles and Macron will inspect the guard before the group views the military march past. Lunch in the state dining room follows, with other Royal Family members attending.

The Macrons will view Royal Collection items with French connections before visiting Westminster Abbey. They will pay respects at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The state banquet that evening will see Charles leading royal family members in hosting British and French guests.

During a recent hospital well-being garden visit, Kate spoke candidly about recovery challenges.

"You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment," she said. "Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult."

She explained the transition period's difficulties. "You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to."

Prince William recently met President Macron in Paris, representing his father at Notre Dame Cathedral's reopening in December.

The President and Mrs Macron will stay at Windsor Castle, departing on Thursday, July 10.
