FORD

Ford

The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Ford has recalled just over 200,000 vehicles.

The car's rearview camera image may not display, while the rearview image can continue to be displayed even when the vehicle is travelling forward, potentially distracting the driver. Both of these instances can increase the risk of a crash.

The recall includes certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles.

Almost 444,000 Honda vehicles are being recalled because of an engine failure issue, according to a recall filed at the start of July.

A potential manufacturing defect in engine components may cause "engine damage or complete failure", increasing the risk of a crash for motorists and any passengers.

Around 1.2 per cent of all vehicles have the defect, the NHTSA reported, with Nissan Rogue, Altima, Infiniti QX50, and Infiniti QX55 models impacted.

A total of 11,327 Niro (2020-2022) electric vehicles are being recalled amid fears that issues with a rearview camera may increase the risk of an accident.

The circuit board for the rearview camera may become damaged and cause the rearview camera image not to display, potentially leading to a crash.

Recall documents state that dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge, if the issue is present in the electric car.

STELLANTIS

Stellantis

More than 250,000 vehicles are being recalled by parent company Stellantis on behalf of Chrysler due to an improperly sealed side curtain airbag.

It is not certain whether the issue has led to any injuries or accidents, with owners of 2022-2025 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles advised to follow recall instructions.

The NHTSA states that an airbag with insufficient pressure retention could increase the risk of ejection and injury during a crash.
