Princess Kate is likely to miss out on royal engagements including the Baftas, the Commonwealth Day Service and St. Patrick’s Day as she recovers from abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales is set to remain in hospital for up to two weeks and is not expected to resume any public duties until after Easter.

It was revealed yesterday that Kate was admitted to hospital for an abdominal surgery and is now “doing well” following the operation.

There are several events that Kate would usually attend at this time of year which she will most likely miss as she recuperates.

Kate has attended the Baftas four times since 2011 where she dazzled the audience with her royal glamour and mingled with Hollywood stars.

In 2023, the princess paired a floor-length, white one-shouldered dress with black statement opera gloves. She decorated her gown with bold, gold earrings and a matching black and gold clutch.

The Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey is also usually on the calendar in March for the royal couple.

Last year, Kate honoured her husband’s mother by wearing a brooch featuring the Prince of Wales feather insignia that used to belong to Princess Diana.

She also worse a pair of two-tiered diamond and sapphire earrings that also once belonged to Diana.

Another important date for Kate in March is the St. Paddy’s Day Parade.

In 2023, the Prince and Princess of Wales were guests of honour at Mons Barracks in Aldershot where Kate took her role as the colonel of the Irish Guards.

Kate sipped Guinness and made an emotional speech to officers and guards: “I really couldn’t be prouder to stand in front of you here today.

"It really is a true honour to be your Colonel. I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do-this is a responsibility I do not take lightly.”

Kate and William’s rumoured Italy tour is also likely to be postponed until after the princess’s recovery.

It was previously reported that the couple would visit Rome in the Spring.

The princess is staying at The London Clinic, a well renowned hospital with expert medical staff and luxurious facilities for the next couple of weeks.
