The two snooker stars are currently embroiled in a feud following their recent Masters triumph

Ronnie O'Sullivan has revealed he's hoping to give his Masters trophy away to a close friend.

And that plan could rile Ali Carter, with the two men currently involved in a huge feud following their recent showdown at Alexandra Palace.

O'Sullivan recently beat Carter in the final of the Masters, battling his way to a first triumph of the year in the process.

He has since added the World Grand Prix to his collection, having beaten Judd Trump in the final of that competition earlier this month.

O'Sullivan has previously revealed he doesn't care much for trophies, despite everything he's achieved in the sport.

And now, per the Daily Express, he's announced his plan to give his Masters trophy to a first friend.

"If I can keep that one, I’ll send it back to China to one of my mates and let him keep it in his club," he said.

"That’s what I do with most of my trophies now."

Carter could interpret O'Sullivan's plan as disrespectful given he recently lost in the final at Alexandra Palace.

The 44-year-old was devastated after failing to win, though did insist he was 'getting closer' to secure snooker's biggest prizes.

Carter has never won the Masters, while his rival has won the tournament seven times during the course of his career.

And O'Sullivan giving the accolade away would show he's not too bothered by his latest achievement.

The Rocket previously said last year that he didn't care about trophies and would prefer to give them away instead.

He said at the time: "I always give them away. My mate Paul's got one, I gave one to a kid in the crowd.

"I'm not really bothered about trophies. I've sold quite a few of them.

"I don't want any memorabilia left by the time I'm 70 or 80. I'm preparing for death.

"Part of that is I don't want no snooker stuff. Waistcoats, cues, it's all going to go."

Meanwhile, O'Sullivan's feud with Carter continues to rumble on.

The 48-year-old recently told his rival to 'sort his f*****g life out' after being accused of snotting all over the Ally Pally floor.

Carter snapped back by saying O'Sullivan 'wasn't well mentally'.

And O'Sullivan's girlfriend, Laila Rouass, has now opted to reignite the row by telling Carter to 'hush his mouth'.

Taking to Instagram, she said: "Ali Carter said four or five years ago that Ronnie doesn’t have another World Championship win in him. What did he go and do? He went and won.

"That didn't age well, did it Ali Carter?

"Now hush your mouth and be a good boy. Concentrate on your snooker."
