Prince George’s godmother, Julia Samuel, has been injured during a skiing holiday in the French Alps.
Samuel, who was a friend of Princess Diana, broke her shoulder in a fall on holiday with her family in Courchevel last week.
The psychotherapist is a bestselling author of books that help guide readers through trauma and change, which could help her through her own recovery.
Samuel, who is currently recovering in a brace, said: “I’ve got ten pins in it… and I can’t really move.”

The author posted a video on Instagram explaining how she was injured and her thoughts on recovering.
She said: “On the first morning at 11 o’clock I fell on nothing and busted my shoulder.”
Her granddaughter, Natasha, who was recording the video corrected her grandmother saying she had "nails" in her shoulder rather than pins.
The prince’s godmother revealed that the family uses a psychological technique to talk openly about their injuries and aid recovery.

She explained that “all of us in the family have alter egos, my broken shoulder is called Trudy, Rich, my son-in-law’s back is called Steve…so that we can talk about them freely and it’s quite funny.”
Fans took to social media with well-wishes for the paediatric counsellor who usually spends her time helping others through their grief.
One supporter said: “Oh Julia this is so rotten. Get well soon. Good to be around family when these things happen.”
Other fans commented on her alter ego: “Healing and speedy recovery for Trudy so that she will not be an unwanted guest in your house for very long!”

Samuel is very fond of her god child and has spoken in the past about her relationship with George and his grandmother, the late Princess Diana.
She told The Guardian: “I feel lucky I was such a good friend of Princess Diana. And I really love my godson, George. And it’s a lovely way of loving her.”
The Royal Family understand how dangerous skiing can be; in 1988 one of King Charles’s closest friends was killed in an avalanche in the Alps.
The King is a keen skier and traditionally visits the Swiss ski resort, Klosters, in February or March.
