Whilst we have all been busily distracted with talks of fuel, shelves and staff shortages; an incredibly important public consultation is currently underway in England, alas I fear it one which many, don't even know about.
I speak of the government's so called Plan B.
The introduction of vaccine-only passports if "the NHS comes under unsustainable pressure" this Autumn or Winter.
This new plan goes a step further than the vaccine passports that we've seen before - Plan B, as the name would suggest, considers only one thing & that is vaccination.
These discriminatory passes *would* apply to those attending many Indoor and outdoor events; nightclubs and outdoor festivals for example, but not to things such as; street parties or protests.
And just when you're marvelling at Covid's ability to hurt you at an outdoor festival, but not at a protest - get this; it applies to all of us, except people like local authority officers or a diplomat or someone, "working for an international organisation"... Gosh, what a clever virus Covid is, it reduces its risk, based on job title, wow.
If a worker at an eligible event isn't vaccinated, there's talk of them being allowed to do a test instead - if they are supervised whilst doing so.
This discriminatory, nonsensical lunacy needs to stop.
If it really was all about protecting us then why the stupid exemptions? And if it's all about the antibodies, why is natural immunity totally disregarded?
Don't even get me started on the fact that people can still catch and transmit Covid, irrespective of their vaccination status.
In my view, this is about encouraging people to get vaccinated and whilst you may think that is a noble endeavour - Government depriving us of our basic freedoms, in order to get us to do what they want - is something we should all resist.
The deadline for us to give our feedback on this plan, is the 11th October.
I wholeheartedly recommend you all take a moment to go online and do so. All of us need to.
