Dan Wootton: Harry and Meghan live in a delusional world, where bringing down rivals comes before anything else

The past 24 hours will be seen as a seminal moment in the exposure of the Duke and Duchess of Woke as deluded fantasists prepared to use their friends in the media to try and distort the truth.

It is critically important we call out Harry and Meghan’s hypocrisy – given the platform this couple have thanks to their slavish followers in the liberal media and because of how they intend to use that constant publicity politically.

Remember, Prince Harry is in the middle of penning a tell-all autobiography about his life which he intends to significantly damage the British Royal Family, causing harm to a lifetime of work by his grandmother the Queen.

And remember, sources close to Meghan have always told me she harbours long-term ambitions to one day become the US President – and, as we saw with her recent lobbying of US senators over paid parental leave, already intends on using her Duchess title to influence politics, both here and in the US.

In a bid to deflect from highly damaging bombshell revelations in court today, which I’ll come to shortly, we have seen Harry and Meghan take part in two high profile appearances.

First, Meghan tried to delegitimise the tabloid media, which has been at the forefront of writing true stories about her plans…

Then, Prince Harry claimed he tried to warn Twitter founder Jack Dorsey of the so-called insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6.

I mean, you hardly had to be Mystic Meg to predict that there was going to be a degree of civil unrest following the close election result.

But for me it’s the delusional arrogance of this bloke who genuinely believes all successful American businessman and media moguls should bow to his limited intellect, despite the fact he is a glorified celebrity who carries no official title and is no longer a working royal.

Oh and by the way, the word Megxit, created on this famous front page as I revealed their plans to quit the UK, is misogynist!

Harry made his comments at an event about disinformation.

Which is particularly ironic because, just hours later, a pack of their disinformation appeared to be exposed as part of evidence in a British court in the couple’s ongoing battle with the Mail on Sunday which published extracts of a letter Meghan sent to her father Thomas, who incidentally will be here with me tomorrow night.

Jason Knauf, the couple’s former communications secretary who remains a loyal staff member and close confidante of Prince William and Kate, dropped a couple of metaphorical bombs.

He revealed text messages showing that Meghan wrote the letter to Thomas knowing it was more than likely going to be leaked to the media.

In one text exchange, she wrote to Knauf:

“Obviously everything I've drafted is with the understanding that it could be leaked, so I have been meticulous in my word choice. But please do let me know if anything stands out for you as a liability.”

A second message reads:

"Given I've only ever called him Daddy, it may make sense to open as such despite him being less than paternal. And in the unfortunate event that it leaked, it would pull at the heart strings."

"Honestly Jason, I feel fantastic. Cathartic and real and honest and factual. If he leaks it that's on his conscience, but at least the world will know the truth. Words I could never voice publicly."

But Mr Knauf – who previously reported Meghan for alleged bullying of staff members – wasn’t done there.

In a witness statement, he finally confirmed that the couple had “authorised specific cooperation in writing” the awful hagiography Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie, which I revealed before the book was released.

Emails provided to the court showed Knauf advised Harry that working with the authors was “not a good idea”.

But Harry replied:

"I totally agree that we have to be able to say we didn’t have anything to do with it. Equally, you giving the right context and background to them would help get some truths out there."

"The truth is v much needed and would be appreciated, especially around the Markle/wedding stuff but at the same time we can’t put them directly in touch with her friends.”

Harry went on:

“Also, are u planning on giving them a rough idea of what she’s been through over the last 2yrs? Media onslaught, cyber bullying on a different scale, puppeteering Thomas Markle etc etc etc."

"Even if they choose not to use it, they should hear what it was like from someone who was in the thick of it. So if you aren’t planning on telling them, can I ?!”

And Meghan even sent over a list of so-called briefing points for Knauf to speak to the authors about, which included her relationship with her half-siblings, dad Thomas and the infamous Tiaragate, another story I first revealed, despite denials from Harry and Meghan.

After that mic drop moment from Knauf, the Duchess had to admit to the court in a new witness statement today that what she'd said in the past wasn't true.

She claims she got all forgetful all of a sudden, saying:

"I apologise to the Court for the fact that I had not remembered these exchanges at the time. I had absolutely no wish or intention to mislead the Defendant or the Court."

Today’s revelations seem so crucial because they are part of a pattern I’ve followed over many years that suggests that Harry and Meghan have zero credibility when it comes to truth telling. Just look at their Oprah abomination.

So when the Queen says about the couple, in her typically sensitive manner, “recollections may vary”, let me tell you what I think: Harry and Meghan live in their own delusional world, where bringing down their rivals – even family members – comes before anything else.

No wonder they’re now the least popular senior members of the Royal Family amongst the British public, outside the shamed and retired Prince Andrew.
