Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged by the Metropolitan Police with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charges after reviewing evidence submitted by detectives.

The 32-year-old footballer from Hertfordshire faces allegations involving three different women. The Met issued the charges following an extensive investigation that has been ongoing for more than two years.

The alleged offences are reported to have occurred between 2021 and 2022. Partey denies all charges, with a lawyer also saying he 'welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name'.
