Tesco and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) have issued an urgent warning to shoppers regarding two batches of Wall's Classic Scotch Eggs, which are contaminated with salmonella.
The supermarket chain confirmed that the products should not be consumed and should be returned to any Tesco store for a full refund.
The affected items are Wall's 2 Classic Scotch Eggs 226g and Wall's The Classic Scotch Egg 113g, both with a use-by date of July 2, 2025.
These have been urgently recalled in light of the Salmonella discovery. As the use-by date is today, Tesco shoppers are advised to urgently check their kitchens for the snacks.

The recall affects various Wall's Classic Scotch Eggs with the specific use-by date, though no other Wall's products have been impacted by the contamination issue.
Tesco stated: "Wall's is recalling various Classic Scotch Eggs with the use by date of July 2, 2025. This is due to the presence of Salmonella."
The retailer offered important guidance to customers who have purchased the scotch eggs.

"If you've bought an affected product, please don't eat it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required," the supermarket said.

The FSA confirmed that The Compleat Food Group is recalling the products, with point of sale notices being displayed in all retail stores selling them.

"This is an isolated incident and no other Wall's products are affected," The Compleat Food Group stated.
The FSA advised customers who have bought any of the affected products not to eat them and to return them to their nearest store for a full refund.

To avoid becoming unwell, the FSA urged shoppers not to eat them. Instead, they should return them to their place of purchase immediately for a full refund.
