Tucker Carlson has been praised by political commentator Candace Owens following his bombshell interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The former Fox News host sat down with Putin in a landmark event almost two years on from the start of the war in Ukraine.
Carlson pressed the President on why he decided to invade Ukraine and was told that a Russian defeat in the conflict is "impossible by definition".
Putin also spoke at length about the history of Russia and Eastern Europe, their relations with China and his grievances with NATO amid suggestions that Ukraine could join the alliance.

Putin also claimed he has "never refused" to negotiate a peace deal with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
He told Tucker Carlson that the war with Ukraine could be over "in a few weeks" if the US were to stop supplying weapons.
Reacting to the interview, US political commentator Candace Owens said Carlson is "incredibly wise and brave" for flying to Russia and sitting down with Vladimir Putin.
Speaking to Nigel Farage, Owens says the media coverage of the Ukraine war over the last two years contains "a lot of lies being sold to us" by the mainstream media.

Owens told GB News: "The mainstream media is not telling you what the other president that's involved in this conflict is saying. If you dare to share that information, you're being called the Putin puppet. It's pointedly ridiculous.
"In America, we believe in this radical idea of free speech and Tucker Carlson doing that interview, conducting it despite the fact that the NSA (National Security Agency) was spying on him and trying to prevent that from happening."
Owens claimed: "The EU is considering sanctioning Tucker Carlson, regarding an interview that they have not even seen - it's all you need to know.
"Every individual should watch this interview, not because you should agree with everything that Putin says, but because you should hear different sides and come to conclusions after researching what both sides are saying."

Host Nigel Farage agreed with Owens and said he "understands" the frustration in America regarding Joe Biden's unwavering support for Ukraine and "billions of dollars" being sent overseas.
Owens fumed at the Biden administration: "We're frightened by the war that's happening in our border right now and we're being told that we shouldn't care about it, because we should care more about Ukraine's borders. It's pointedly foolish.
"You're telling me that I need to wake up in the morning and I need to go to work so that you can extract unaccounted tax dollars from me to go overseas to be sent to Ukrainians."
She continued: "They have no idea where the money is going. We deserve an explanation, an honest explanation of what we are doing in Ukraine, because to say that we are not at war with Ukraine isn't simply untrue."
