It comes after Harry said he visited Her Majesty last month to make sure 'she was protected and got the right people around her'

Some members of the Royal Family believe the Queen “needs protecting” from Prince Harry.

Royal author and former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown made the remarks when speaking out on Harry’s comments about protecting Her Majesty.

In an interview with NBC’s Today Show last month, Harry said he visited the Queen on his way to the Invictus Games to make sure that "she’s protected and got the right people around her.”

But Ms Brown has hit back at his remarks, saying that “a lot of people” in the Royal Family were thinking “well actually she needs protecting from you, Harry," she told BBC radio 4.

While Harry and Meghan Markle’s presence at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee remains up in the air with the pair citing security concerns.

Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle recently confirmed exclusively to GB News he would be attending the celebrations, while also casting doubt on whether the couple would make the trip from the US.

When asked on Dan Wootton Tonight whether he thought the pair would attend, Mr Markle said: “I’m getting the feeling that if they know I’m coming, they won’t be coming.

“But if they do come, I’d love to reach out and speak with them and try to figure out what went wrong and how we can repair it.

“I don’t see that happening, but I’d certainly like to try.”
