“Well I’m going a bit thin, so I’m disabled!

“That means I can park close right up to Tesco’s now."

His comments come just days after he hit out at the Oscars by revealing a parody speech.

A fan took to Twitter to post a video of Gervais’ memorable speech during the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, calling on others to retweet if they wanted to see the British actor to host the Oscars.

Gervais replied to the tweet with a parody speech, which started: "Hello. I hope this show helps cheer up the ordinary people watching at home.

“If you’re unemployed for example, take some comfort in the fact that even if you had a job, your salary probably wouldn't be as much as the goody bag all the actors have just been given.

"I'm proud to announce that this is the most diverse and progressive Oscars ever. Looking out I see people from all walks of life. Every demographic under the sun.
