Police catch rogue swan and return it to lake in Peterborough

A swan was sighted by concerned motorists on Wednesday morning on the Nene Parkway in Peterborough.

Brave police officers managed to catch the swan, both swan and officers were unharmed, before returning it to the rowing lake at Thorpe Meadows.

A statement on the Policing Peterborough police said:

"We were called out to concerns someone was swanning around on the parkway earlier this morning."

"The friendliest swan there ever was who was more than happy to be carried a quarter of a mile back to the rowing lake!"
