NS&I will update the Premium Bonds prize checker with the results for May 2024 tomorrow

NS&I has released some details about this month's Premium Bonds prize draw, which saw more than 5.8 million prizes up for grabs.

This month, the two jackpot winners were from Hampshire and Isle of Wight and Outer London.

The Winning Bonds, 514CV247038 and 401XE212038, were bought in September 2022 and July 2020, respectively.

Some other high value prize draw winners won £100,000 this month, just months after buying the Winning Bond.

Three savers bought the Winning Bonds 571BD659036, 571BD659036 and 570VE878895 in February this year.

Two of them are from Northamptonshire while the third is from Bedfordshire.

Two savers, from Northumberland and Inner London, bought their Winning Bonds 566AN391741 and 567ZK386738 in January 2024.

Savers can find some details about the high value winners on NS&I's website now, and the Premium Bonds prize checker will be updated tomorrow.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, said: “Congratulations to our two new millionaires from Hampshire and Outer London. We’re glad that we can bring a smile to so many people each month with our tax-free prizes, ranging from £25 up to £1million.

“This year we celebrate thirty years since ERNIE drew our first ever millionaire. The total prize pot for May was more than £453 million with over 5.8 million prizes being drawn.

"Each £1 Bond has an equal chance of winning so the more you save the more chances you have to win a tax-free prize.”

Last month, NS&I confirmed there were a total of 2,399,977 Premium Bonds prizes, worth £83,367,525, still unclaimed.

This includes five unclaimed prizes worth £100,000 each.

NS&I said there are also eight winners who have scooped £50,000, but have not claimed the prize.

The oldest unclaimed Premium Bonds prize is a £25 payout from November 1957.

The winner is from South Yorkshire, NS&I said, and the Winning Bond number is 000VN199709.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

NS&I contacts winners when they win a Premium Bonds prize, although sometimes the winner won't receive the news.

This could happen because they have moved and not told N&SI, they've changed some personal details, or the letter got lost.

Savers will not get guaranteed returns through Premium Bonds, so this savings option won't be right for those concerned about inflation.

The odds of winning currently stand at 21,000 to one for every £1 Bond in the monthly prize draw.
