Gina Mok was thrown out of the exclusive club after a fellow member and Department of Health official found she had breached quarantine rules

A member of an exclusive London club was reportedly thrown out for being unvaccinated, after a Department of Health official highlighted her breaking the rules.

Gina Mok, 44, is suing the exclusive Lansdowne Club after she was expelled last year.

Fellow member Phoebe Topping reported Ms Mok for attending a club council meeting after travelling to Bulgaria.

Ms Mok, who is unvaccinated, claimed she was unaware of the regulations and thought she was exempt for medical reasons.

Ms Topping then further complained when Ms Mok returned to the club the next day, and was urged by her to resign.

A club hearing later found Ms Mok to have breached club rules and she was expelled.

The Lansdowne Club is now being sued by her for £50,000 “loss of privacy, injury to feelings and person, distress and damage to [her] reputation”.

The club emailed members on Thursday saying: “It is always a shame when these sorts of disputes reach the public domain and cannot be sorted out ‘within the family’, but the truth in this case is that we simply do not recognise the claims as having any merit whatsoever and have, therefore, been left with no option but to resist them in their entirety.”

A spokesman for the club told The Telegraph: “It would not be appropriate to comment in any detail, other than to say we were extremely surprised – given the factual background – that these claims have been brought in the first place.

"We will be resisting them very strongly.”
