Nurse Andrea Andrades got the train to Paddington station from Hayes in west London on Tuesday morning.
The 32-year-old said around 70% of people on the train were wearing masks, but she generally avoids using public transport because people do not wear face coverings.
She said: “The last time I used public transport was when we finished the second wave, so that (the train) was almost empty and people were wearing face masks.
“After that I tried to avoid using public transport as I work in a hospital, so I don’t want to put anyone at risk.”
Ms Andrades said she left the NHS after the second wave of Covid-19 and has since moved into private healthcare.
“If we have another wave, we have to close all the clinics and just move to the hospitals to support our colleagues. I hope not though, I’m so tired of it already,” she said.
