The staggering cost of King Charles and Queen Camilla's trip to Australia and Samoa last year has been revealed as part of the Royal Household's Sovereign Grant Report.
Their Majesties' 11-day tour was the monarch’s first trip to a Commonwealth realm since ascending the throne in September 2022.
Charles had travelled to attend Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.
The visit, which extended from October 17-27, has now been revealed to have cost an eye-watering £400,535.

The new Royal Household report covers all expenditure from April 2024 to March 2025, including the myriad of foreign and domestic visits by various working royals.
King Charles’s antipodean tour was the most costly of the previous year’s engagement by a significant margin.
In second place was Charles and Camilla’s trip to Belfast in March, which cost £80,139.
Prince William was also among the most expensive tours, with his visit to British military personnel in Estonia racking up £55,846 in expenses.

In total, the Royal Family’s trips cost £2,743,846.
Across the period of the report, Royal Family members undertaking more than 1,900 public appearances domestically and internationally.
These included Second World War anniversary commemorations across Britain and Europe.
As well as trips, the royals also hosted a huge number of visits with Official Royal Palaces welcomed over 93,000 guests across 828 events.

This included major State Visits from Japan and Qatar.
Regarding the expenditure on tours and receptions, the Keeper of the Privy Purse James Chalmers said: "Soft power is hard to measure but its value is, I believe, now firmly understood at home and abroad, as the core themes of the new reign have come into even sharper focus."
The Royal Household's Sovereign Grant Report revealed that funding for the monarchy broadly remained at £86.3million for the fourth consecutive year.
The total comprises £51.8million for core operations and £34.5million allocated to the Buckingham Palace Reservicing Programme.

Also revealed in the report was King Charles’s decision to award the Prince and Princess of Wales as grantees of Royal Warrants.
The new arrangement allows William and Catherine to grant warrants to companies that supply goods or services to their household.
Existing Prince of Wales Royal Warrant holders have been given until the end of July to apply to retain their status.
Companies seeking new warrants from the Prince or Princess of Wales will be able to submit applications in the first half of 2026.
