Alastair Stewart says the government must scrap their 'school bubbles' policy

"Yes, we should end those bubbles. Period. Full stop. Too many of our children have suffered enough already", Alastair Stewart has said on GB News.

Speaking on Alastair Stewart & Friends, the GB News presenter said the "coronavirus, which was never a threat to children's wellbeing, has made them victims."

"There is no educational equivalent of furlough."

"Education is a one-shot experience", said Mr Stewart, and it's an experience that is being disrupted by the government's school bubbles policy.

According to the government's Covid guidance for schools:

"The overarching principle to apply is reducing the number of contacts between pupils and staff."

"This can be achieved through keeping groups separate (in ‘bubbles’) and through maintaining distance between individuals."

"Maintaining distinct groups or ‘bubbles’ that do not mix makes it quicker and easier in the event of a positive case to identify those who may need to self-isolate and to keep that number as small as possible."
