UK areas were voted as the best for a coastal walk

If searching for plans this weekend, why not visit one of the best areas for a coastal walk in the UK.

Areas across the country were voted among the best in a new study.


Taking a stroll by the sea is a great way to relax after a long week.

Shoe company Fitflop has rounded up the top spots to visit over the bank holiday.

A walk from Abbotsbury to Lulworth in Dorset took the number one spot.

This is no surprise as the coastal walk has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor.

Speaking of their experience on the trail, one Tripadvisor user said: "Absolutely fantastic views of the coastline and across beautiful green countryside. Some steep climbs but worth it."

Another wrote on Tripadvisor: "Terrific views and plenty of stopping places. Pretty easy going and loads of stiles!"

In the second spot was the North Scotland walk of John O’Groats to Duncansby Head.

Duncansby Head has an outstanding Tripadvisor rating of 5 out of 5 and it has garnered many positive reviews.

One tourist praised the "stunning views" while another said it was a "nice walk" with a "fantastic viewpoint".

Walks in Devon, Cornwall and Merseyside also made the list.
