Ayesha Shand posted an emotional video explaining the symptoms of her condition

Queen Camilla’s niece has opened up about her “unbearable” and “agonising” medical condition, endometriosis.

Ayesha Shand, 29, posted an emotional video where she explains what it is like to live with the medical condition.

Shand, the daughter of Camilla’s late brother Mark Shand, talked about the symptoms of her diagnosis keeping her in “agony” for hours.

She said: “This is what endometriosis looks and feels like. It’s isolating, agonising and completely unbearable."

In the video, Shand lies on her side and tearfully describes how the condition feels for her.

She states: “Every month, I ingest hundred of pain killers, faint, vomit, spend nights and days crouched on the floor crying.

“This is all followed by intense waves of helplessness and depression.”

According to the NHS website, endometriosis is a “condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes” causing severe pelvis pain and makes it harder to get pregnant.

Shand is going to be operated on in a few weeks, but due to the inability to diagnose the condition many women will live their lives in painful silence.

Shand continued: “According to statistics one in 10 women suffer from it but due to the inability to diagnose the condition, it is likely to double that."

She also recommended the organisation, Endometriosis Foundation of America, as a resource for any women experiencing symptoms.

She said: “For those wanting to know more @endofound is a great resource - an organization dedicated to increase disease recognition, provide advocacy, facilitate expert surgical training, and fund landmark endometriosis research.”

Shand’s followers commented their support on her post as many women shared their own stories.

One user stated: “Thank you for sharing on this topic. I didn’t know for many years what I had and actually found out myself through research over the years and seeing many people.”

The Queen’s niece followed King Charles’s actions by spreading awareness about her condition.

The King revealed his private medical details before he went into hospital for an enlarged prostate condition causing a surge in awareness about men’s prostate cancer.
