James Middleton hinted he will share details about his childhood with Princess Kate in his new memoir.

The Princess of Wales’s brother shared details of his new book Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life.

According to a new description, the book will follow the childhood years of his life growing up alongside the future princess, Kate and his third sibling Pippa Matthews.

It will also provide an insight into James’s time at royal weddings and his visit to the King at Highgrove and Sandringham.

The online description of the book reads: “James Middleton wanted nothing more than a dog of his own when he was a child. Struggling to connect in the classroom, James would often take off in pursuit of nature and animals - adventuring in the Berkshire countryside, tinkering with rusty engines, performing locum care to injured creatures, and losing himself for hours to the outdoors.

"Then, finally, his pleas for a dog (made via handwritten letters to his parents) were answered.”

It goes on to describe the “extraordinary bond” between James and his first pup Ella, from “their enchanting introduction when James was just 20, to attending royal weddings and being guests at Highgrove and Sandringham, their journey is marked by love, loyalty, and unexpected twists of fate.

“Ella, the well-mannered and kind-natured companion, accompanied James everywhere, even playing a pivotal role in introducing him to his future wife, Alizee.”

James met his wife, Alizee in a London pub and tied the knot in Bormes-les-Mimosas in 2021.

Alizee has since joined her husband on several public engagements, including attending Kate's annual Christmas carol service in 2021.

The description continued: “But beyond the glamorous veneer of society engagements and entrepreneurial achievements lies a deeply personal account of James' battle with clinical depression.

“Through unconditional love, Ella emerges as an intuitive friend, reading James' moods and offering solace during his darkest hours, becoming the catalyst for his healing journey, and helping him to see all the good in his life and future.”

James and Alizee share one son Inigo, born in October last year.

James previously told Tatler: “Another of the reasons that I wanted to write this book was so that I could tell Inigo the story of how I met his mother.”

The Middletons remain private about their relationship with Princess Kate, however, following his sister’s cancer announcement in March, James shared a childhood picture of them with an emotional message.

He said: “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”
