US inflation has plummeted under Joe Biden by 64 per cent since 2021

US President Joe Biden has been criticised for the "huge mistake" made during the coronavirus pandemic, which impacted the American economy greatly.

In 2021, Biden formally announced his $1.9trillion COVID-19 relief plan, which included $1,400 stimulus checks, extended unemployment benefits, and a vaccine rollout.

Economic growth during the Trump presidency was dramatic, with a sharp fall in 2020 as a result of the lockdowns, followed by an equally dramatic recovery once restrictions were lifted.

Biden benefited from a sharp rebound in economic activity as the country emerged from pandemic lockdowns in 2021.

However, low unemployment levels under his administration came into place, reaching just 3.5 per cent in September 2022.

Speaking to GB News, Radio Host Dan O'Donnell hit out at Biden's economic plans, and claims that jobs numbers have been "revised downward every single month" since they were first reported in 2023.

He claimed that the jobs picture across America is "not nearly as rosy as it appears".

O'Donnell told host Mark Dolan: "Since Biden took office, prices are up across the board by 11, 12, 13 per cent, and I would posit that a big reason that the labour market is appearing to be as strong as it is, is because people are being forced to take second and sometimes third jobs.

"People are paying roughly $15,000 more per year for the exact same stuff that they bought in 2020."

In response, fellow radio host Robert Patillo claimed that Trump was a "socialist President".

Patillo hit back: "What Joe Biden has done is put America back to work. We've seen inflation drop by 64 per cent since 2021. We've seen economic growth go up.

"We've seen economic outlook saying that we were going to go into a recession every single quarter for the last three years. And Joe Biden has stopped that with his economic policies."

Patillo continued: "The regional Republicans don't like those numbers because it shows that Bidenomics works, and socialism that Donald Trump pushed for does not."

O'Donnell hit back: "I'm just glad the Democrats finally admitted after nearly four years that shutting down the economy for a virus that wasn't nearly as bad as they pretended it was was a mistake.

"You might recall that somebody was fighting tooth and nail. You might even say a political party was fighting tooth and nail.

"They were filing lawsuits against it to reopen the economy, the schools, businesses, gyms, everything. I am so glad to hear a liberal finally agree with us that that was a huge mistake."
