Donald Trump has exploded with rage at Fox News for “purposefully” using unflattering photos of him where he looks “big” and “orange” and has his “chin pulled way back”.

The former President has demanded that the news station stop using unattractive images of him, after accusing them of “purposefully showing the absolutely worst pictures of me”.

Trump also blasted the network for failing to show polling data “where I am beating Biden by a lot”.

The 77-year-old was a big fan of Fox News, who supported him heavily during his presidency.

He was known to have been a regular viewer of their morning show Fox and Friends.

However, his love for the right-wing broadcaster has soured after it was the first in calling the crucial state of Arizona for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election.

Trump said on his Truth Social platform: “Why doesn't Fox and Friends show all of the polls where I am beating Biden, by a lot. They just won't do it!

“Also, they purposely show the absolutely worst pictures of me, especially the big 'orange' one with my chin pulled way back.”

He added: “They think they are getting away with something, they're not. Just like 2016 all over again…And then they want me to debate!”

This is not the first time Trump has been unhappy with his appearance in the media.

Earlier this month, the former president complained about the lack of air conditioning at an event he was speaking at. He was worried his sweat would get picked up on by the media.

“You know what the press will say? They'll say Trump didn't look well. He was extremely wet. It is 104 or 105 degrees (40C) in here. But we're OK with it, right?”

Fox News is hosting the first debate of the Republican presidential primary in Milwaukee next Wednesday.

Trump has suggested he will not attend, even though he is one of the eight candidates eligible to participate because he has met the party’s fundraising and polling threshold.

Yet Fox is keen to secured Trump’s attendance, so much so that the network’s chief executive and president travelled to his Palm Beach home to convince him.

There are rumours that the 77-year-old is plotting some counter-programming to upstage his republican rivals on Wednesday night.

It is speculated that this will be via an interview or a campaign event.

Trump and Biden stand almost neck and neck support wise, according to a poll from Quinnipiac University.

The results show that Biden was backed by 47 per cent and Trump by 46 per cent.
