I couldn’t believe what I saw last night, and I still can’t. The definition of insanity is extreme foolishness or irrationality.
We have a new variant in this country, in fact by the end of last week it has been detected in 38 countries, one would imagine it’s probably in many more by now.
Yet, to date, there have been zero deaths. I don’t know about you, but Boris Johnson’s address last night felt more like an advert for Big Pharma than something that actually made tangible sense.
It’s worth noting that, we’re not South Africa…in South Africa just 25% of their population is fully vaccinated. It’s also worth noting that, as yet, nobody has died from Omicron in South Africa and all the medical reports coming out of that country suggest Omicron is mild.
Boris posed himself a question, which he then didn’t answer. And that was really the point for me where I lost total faith in what he was saying. He said some people are asking whether Omicron is more severe than other variants and whether we really need to go out and get the booster.
He then didn’t say that Omicron is more severe than other variants, instead, he said: ‘We have people in the UK in hospital with Omicron…’ Yes, 10 of them apparently. Why didn’t he give the exact number?
Because it may seem like if only 10 people are in hospital with a particular illness, it’s not that much of a big deal… Now, as a result of Omicron, Boris is going to cancel some medical appointments to help with the vaccine booster rollout.
Hospitals are apparently going to be told to ‘clinically prioritise their services to maximise capacity.’ We’re already set to have 12 million people on an NHS waiting list by 2025. We already have 740,000 people who weren’t referred for a cancer diagnosis.
I find it very difficult to make the case that someone who might have cancer, or indeed frankly anyone with any kind of uncomfortable condition, should not get care so that 18-year-olds can get vaccinated against an illness that will probably barely affect them, and a new strain of which hasn’t yet killed anyone anywhere in the world.
Boris Johnson is saying we must all get this booster to protect our freedoms. And our way of life, yet he enacts policies that drastically alter our way of life and curtail our freedoms.
Working from home, restricting economic growth, burning our health system to the ground… but it’s more than that as well. We’re seeing a lot of people reveal a very ugly side to themselves.
I’m not anti-vaxx at all, I’m very grateful these things exist, I am pro human rights and pro common sense. There will be people who will watch a clip of this video today and tweet me afterwards swearing at me. Saying that I ‘disgust them’.
I have never, ever told anyone I don’t think they should get the jab, neither have I ever told anyone that I think they should. It’s none of my business whatsoever.
I find it hard to justify the priority of the booster programme at the expense of anything else, and the psychological damage statements like Boris Johnson’s last night can inflict on the nation.
At no point last night did Boris even attempt to hit us with some medical fact or scientific data. Why not? I’m extremely concerned that this is our lives now. It’ll be our lives forever.
Not being able to get your cancer checked because the hospital is prioritising the 27th booster jab, a new variant emerges every six months that scares the living daylights out of us.
I find it incredible how many people who absolutely never trust Boris on anything, who hate him, who think he’s irresponsible and an unfit Prime Minister, are willing to simply swallow absolutely everything that he’s saying about Omicron and the decisions he’s making now.
