Several people are said to be in a serious condition

A "car attack" near Tel Aviv has left at least 19 people injured, local media has reported.

A vehicle reportedly rammed into individuals before a stabbing spree then occurred in the city of Raanana, Israel.

Several people are said to be in a serious condition after the car rammed into individuals on Ahuza Street, the main street of the city.

The "serious incident" has not yet been declared as terror-related but is being investigated by Israeli police.

The driver of the car swapped vehicles three times after crashing, the police said.

One of the victims includes a woman in her 70s who is currently in critical condition.

A man aged 34 and a 16-year-old are also in a serious condition, local emergency services have reported.

Writing on social media, the Israeli police said: "Following a serious incident unfolding in Raanana, police forces are on-site, and the circumstances are being investigated.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"The public is urged to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the police."

Eli Levy, a police spokesperson, told Army Radio: "We still cannot declare with certainty that this was a terrorist attack."

He said it was also unclear how many people had been involved in the incident, which raises the possibility that there may still be suspects at large.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service says that of the 19 being treated by medics, some may be suffering from an anxiety attack.

Eight people of the injured are said to be in a "moderate" condition, with three in a "mild" condition.

The service also said that the number of victims is likely to grow, as the ramming incidents took place at three separate locations.

Eli Raymond, from MDA, said: "We arrived at the scene with large forces, we saw a number of injured people with different levels of injury.

"Immediately we began administering medical care, including stopping bleeding, treating, and giving medication. We evacuated those injured for further treatment in the hospitals."
